A group of firefighters heroically saved a litter of piglets after a blaze struck the barn they were in.

Lucky escape for the little porkers, right?
So, how did farmer Rachel Rivers thank the team from Pewsey Fire Station? Well, she treated them to sausages made from the rescued animals.
Yep. That happened.

According to the BBC, the animals, who were being raised for meat, were given a six-month stay of execution.
But then they were killed and turned into sausages and given as a treat for the firefighters who had saved their bacon six months earlier.

Farmer Rachel said: "I'm sure vegetarians will hate this." I've got a feeling she's right.
"I wanted to thank them. I promised them at the time I'd bring down some sausages for them, which they were all pleased about."
She also added that farming was her livelihood and is just a way of life.

"You do feel sad at the end of it... but to bring them down for their [the firefighters] Monday night practice was a good way of saying 'thank you'."
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our thanks to the farmer for her generosity. We can tell no porkies; the sausages were fantastic."
