Has Argos Attempted To Ruin Christmas With Horrendous £18 Tree?

Has Argos Attempted To Ruin Christmas With Horrendous £18 Tree?

So bad.

The holidays are coming and if you've yet to put up your tree then you're probably a festive Grinch.

I've put mine up and, by the looks of it, it's a lot better than the one being sold at Argos...

Look at that. That's a proper Christmas tree. You can't get a plastic one of those. But I'm getting away from the point of this story.

A mother took to social media to shame Argos after she excitedly opened her brand new tree to find it was lacking festive cheer.

Zoe McAllister bought the tree for her 11-month-old daughter's first Christmas. However, the £18, six foot, artificial, pre-lit tree looked great on the box, but expectation did not turn into reality.

Taking to Facebook, she shared two pictures to Argos' page. One was of how the tree should have looked and the other was of how it turned out.

I reckon it's worth having a second look, just to see how shit it is...

Zoe, who has since returned the tree, said: "I honestly laughed for about 15 minutes when I saw it.

"The main reason I got the tree was because it's my daughter's first Christmas, so I was kind of disappointed by it in that aspect but it was very funny to look at.

"I've had to return the tree now as it really wasn't fit for use."

Zoe said she contacted Argos via its Facebook page and the company told her to return the tree for a replacement.

She added: "They didn't respond to the fact it looked nothing like it was on the box. There wasn't even an apology in the message they sent back."

A spokesman for Argos said in a message to Zoe: "Hi there, if you return the item to store with proof of purchase they will be happy to refund or exchange this for you."

It's all sorted now and Zoe got herself a brand new Argos tree. I still reckon mine will be better, though.
