A hunter was impaled by an elk he had just killed for when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle and landed on the animal's horns. Jesus, that's got to hurt.
Gary Heeter, 69, was out hunting in Oregon on Saturday when he spotted and shot the elk. He attached the dead elk to his vehicle and started dragging it up a hill when the vehicle tipped over and Heeter was thrown onto the antlers, KATU reports.

His fellow hunters helped to stem the blood flow until aid arrived. He was flown to hospital via helicopter where is in a stable condition. Luckily for Heeter, no major organs were hit and he's set to make a full recovery. Unlike the elk, which was minding its own business, probably eating grass, or whatever elks eat, and enjoying the sunshine.
It could have been a lot worse for Heeter, still. I mean, he could have been chased through the woods by a load of guys with guns and then shot for 'sport'.
That would have been mean, wouldn't it? That would have been utterly pointless ad futile too, wouldn't it?
