Double yolk eggs are a poison chalice. Whenever I get one, I think, 'wow - this is gonna be great to eat, it's double the best part of the egg!'. But on the other hand it makes me think about what eggs are and how weird it is that we eat them.

Anyway, one lucky lad was shocked to find all dozen eggs in a box were double yolks - against odds of one in a sextillion.

Tom Tosetti, 17, couldn't believe his eyes when the first seven eggs in the box were all doubles, and started filming - only to find the remaining five were the same.

The physics and maths student at Esher College eats about a dozen eggs a week, and said it was very surprising.

With 1,000 to one odds that an egg has a double yolk, the chances of 12 in a row is longer than one in a thousand trillion.

Wow - some yolks get all the luck!

The lad from Teddington, Middlesex, said: "Even after the second egg was cracked we knew they were something special and my mum said she had never seen two eggs like it.

"We saw a story that said some students had six doubles, but we had twice as many as that. We started filming it on the seventh egg as we realised how crazy it was.

"We just wanted to make some scrambled eggs."

Supermarkets Waitrose and Marks & Spencer retail special packs of eggs with double yolks, but Tom insists his breakfast eggs were the normal Tesco free range variety.

Come on, fess up, Tom, you just put the special eggs in a normal pack to get featured on theLADbible, didn't you?
