Model Who Had Miscarriage After Sex Tape Leak Speaks Out On Tiziana Cantone

Model Who Had Miscarriage After Sex Tape Leak Speaks Out On Tiziana Cantone

Argentinian model Belen Rodriguez, who had a miscarriage after her sex tape went viral, has spoken out in solidarity with Tiziana Cantone, the Italian woman who killed herself after explicit images and a video of her were widely shared on social media.

Cantone was subject to online abuse and trolling after the images of her were shared and Rodriguez, who currently lives in Italy, had a miscarriage after suffering similar abuse when a vide of her was leaked.

"When I heard the news of that girl's suicide, I cried because a similar thing happened to me and I know how horrible it is," The Daily Telegraph reports. "I was depressed for two months - I couldn't leave the house because I was so ashamed and I lost my baby."

After it was made public in 2011, Rodríguez's video was viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

"I'm perhaps the only person not to have watched the video," Ms Rodriguez said. "I was very young and I did all I could to erase it but I wasn't able to. The absurd thing is that even now, you can see that video with just the click of a mouse."

31-year-old Ms Cantone sent several videos, including one of her performing a sex act on a man, to a handful of trusted acquaintances, only for them to be shared across the web.

After the footage went viral, Ms Cantone changed her name, moved house and took legal action to have Facebook take down the footage. However, after two previous suicide attempts, she took her own life 10 days ago.
