Meet Isidore Heath Campbell. Or, as he'll be known from May 8, Isidore Heath Hitler.

Isidore has had a court ruling approved, allowing him to change his surname to the same as his hero, Adolf Hitler.

"Hitler is a hero because he saved Germany," he told MyCentralJersey.com. "He brought up the economy in Germany, built the roads in Germany, gave them more jobs in Germany, he considered the people in Germany. I'm very proud."

Hitler inflicted misery upon millions throughout his leadership, and his actions prompted the start of the Second World War.

He won't be the first to assume the surname, with around 100 American's also sharing it - according to the 2010 census. And, of those, many choose to spell it as Hittler.

You'll probably not be surprised to hear that he supports some of Donald Trump's more controversial plans.

"Only Trump has considered the people in America," he said. "Only Trump has. The rest of them were only in office for a pocket full of money. Trump doesn't care about that. He cares about the people."

"Trump is right, man, build that wall," he added. "We need that wall. We need to get those immigrants out of here. We need to get them all out of here."

His views, as evident, mirror the narrow-minded leader of the 1930s and 40s.

Adolf Hitler timeline

  • Born in Austria in 1889.
  • Served in World War One.
  • Named leader of the Nazi party in 1921.
  • In 1933 he was appointed as chancellor of Germany.
  • His strong policies and invasions of other countries saw the start of World War Two in 1939. Bringing the deaths of an estimated 50-70million people.
  • In 1945, upon Germany's failure to win World War Two - Hitler committed suicide.

It gets worse. The Fuhrer idoliser has named his children in relation to the dictator. He has a son called Adolf and a daughter called Eva Braun (after Hitler's girlfriend during his time in office).

Campbell, is no stranger to attention, he featured in a documentary called Meet The Hitlers which followed people who live their lives in memory of the leader.

At least he knows he's a bit of knob.

"I have different beliefs," he said. "I believe in whites (living) with whites, blacks with blacks, Spanish with Spanish. I don't see anything wrong with that."

He has a tattoo of the swastika on his neck and arms - as well as the names of all his other children. There's JoyceLynn Aryan Nation (the Aryan race referred to Hitler's belief of what the world, and the people in it, should be like), Honzlynn Jeannie, and Heinrich Hons (named after Hitler's right-hand man, Heinrich Himmler).

He lost custody of his youngest daughter in 2013, just days after she was born. But before that, social services took all his children away after he tried to get a cake saying 'Happy birthday Adolf Hitler' for his son in 2008.

In the documentary, he asked: "My son's name is Adolf Hitler Campbell. Does that make it OK for them to come and steal your children?"

In my books, it's a fair reason, yes.

His ex-wife backed up the unnerving story of Campbell saying that he believed he was the devil, and that he frequently took her to the cemetery to "show me where he was going to bury me when he killed me."

He even signs off his voicemail message with 'Heil Hitler'.

Campbell claims he is misunderstood. Sorry, but I think I'm misunderstanding how, exactly, he is misunderstood.
