Something Really Gross Has Emerged From A Bloke's Mouth And It's Like 'Alien'

Hope you're not eating.

Hi, how are you? I hope everything is ticking along pleasantly for you.

It was for me until just a few minutes ago. I was having a really nice day to be honest. That is until one of my colleagues showed me this video.

"Go on, watch it," they said, "it's therapeutic."

And I guess watching it was therapeutic in a way.

Therapeutic in the same way as listening to somebody run their finger nails down a blackboard is therapeutic. Therapeutic in the same way as watching that scene out of Alien is therapeutic. Therapeutic in the same way as having your arms and your legs tied together and being made to watch Love Island from start to finish is therapeutic.

That kind of 'therapeutic'.

Anyway, I digress. What I'm trying to say is that this video is gross. It shows something really disgusting going on inside someone's mouth.

I can't really recommend you watch it. In fact, I would go as far as to say only a sicko would watch it.

Are you a sicko? Yes, yes you are... Then go ahead...

'What the fuck is that!' I hear you shout.

The uploader of the video, Brandon Douglas, said: "This thing was bothering me about five days. Dunno how I got it but my tongue shat it out."

I've given it a quick Google and apparently it's a 'salivary gland stone', which can cause people severe pain until removed from the mouth.

According to the NHS: "The stones are largely made of calcium, and most are smaller than 1cm in diameter, although they can range from being less than 1mm to as large as a few centimetres.

"Usually, a procedure is needed to have the stone removed, although it can sometimes come out of the mouth on its own, or after a bit of probing."

It's not known why the stones form in our mouth, which pretty much means it could happen to us at any point. Something to think about as your trying to get to sleep tonight anyway.
