They're still looking for him.

Some acts are simply so audacious that they're hard to believe.

Take this man in Glossop, Derbyshire. On March 27 he walked into Co-op with one thing on his mind: bagging himself a five-finger discount.

The suspected crook, dubbed 'Britain's most brazen thief', waded over to the TV which took his fancy.

Now, I've never shoplifted myself but I've got to imagine that there's an art to it, a need to keep the whole thing low-key. To bag yourself items that you can tuck under your coat as you make a swift exit.

Not so if you're this bloke, he walked out with a massive £300 ($382) Digihome TV he had just lifted from a display.

A spokesman from Derbyshire Police said: "Sometime between 1pm and 1.30pm a man entered the Co-op on Norfolk Street, Glossop and took a Digihome TV from display.

"He then left the store without paying.

"Staff from the Co-op followed him out of the shop to the train station where the TV was left and the offender ran off.

"Our officers have now released CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident."

Web users quickly took to social media to express their dismay at the audacity of the theft, with the suspect making no attempt to conceal his loot.

Liam Gold wrote on Twitter: "How did he think he could get away with that . Look at the size of it, there's no place he could have even hidden it."

Beth Wilkins said: "This has to be Britain's most unsubtle thief. Priceless."

Miles Jackson added: "He's only looks like a short fella, he can hardly carry it. Its as big as him. Hilarious. Only a matter of time before he is caught. surely."

You'd imagine that this guy was caught by security, so obvious was his crime. Well you would be wrong, the feds are still on the look-out for the man - and his brand new flat-screen.

Earlier this year, it was reported that another bloke was captured on CCTV getting a refund for a TV he'd just picked up from the shop itself.

The incident happened in an Aldi supermarket and the cashier handed the man £329.99 ($420) without the 'customer' presenting a receipt.
