Iceland Is Now Selling Pigs In Blankets On Sticks - Perfect For Summer BBQs

Just when you thought they were a treat designed just for the winter...

When you think of pigs in blankets, you think Christmas dinners and being snuggled up in front of the fire enjoying a mulled wine or two. Or three. Or four. Hey, it's a busy time of year.

But guess what? So is barbecue season.

Well, thanks to Iceland, pigs in blankets will no longer be a luxury that's held back for those winter months, because the frozen goods supermarket is now selling the sausage treats on sticks, perfect for cooking on the BBQ.

That's right, we can now enjoy sausages in blankets all summer long without even feeling an ounce of guilt, and we're all for it.

The pigs on sticks come in packs of six for an impressive £2.50, as part of the supermarket's 'A Taste Of Summer' range.

We'll take ten packs, please.

And that's not the only thing that's arrived in time for barbecue season - last week, Morrisons revealed a huge, meaty ace card that will make your BBQ better than all the rest, with the re-launch of the 'Daddy of all Burgers' that's four times the size of your normal quarter pounder.

If you do the maths, that means it weights a whopping 1lb - which economises on the old effort front, as it saves you having to slap the several patties that we all know you're going to end up eating on the grill, one by one.

The monster burgers cost just £3 - which is a pretty good bang for your buck, given that it's 18cm wide.

To complete the package, Morrisons is also selling giant burger buns (aptly titled the 'Daddy of all Buns') for 50p - meaning all you'll need is a good squirt of ketchup or a few slices of tomato to pop inside. Maybe even a couple of rashers of bacon if you're feeling particularly fancy.

The giant burger was launched as a special promotion for Father's Day, so you might have to be quick to check whether your local branch still has any in stock.

Better still, it might even be a good idea to stock up on a few for all those summer barbecues you've got planned.
