Amazon Prime Day almost upon us, which means you could score some big bargains on a wide range of products.

Of course, you have to become a Prime member to benefit, so here's everything you need to know about getting involved.

What is Prime Day and how does it work?

Amazon Prime Day is an annual two-day price-slashing extravaganza, when Prime members can save big on a range of products, from laptops and gaming to fashion and kitchenware.

Prime Day is probably the second biggest event next to Black Friday for the online retailer and its members.

You do have to be a Prime member to benefit, but you can cancel your membership after Prime Day with no penalty.

How much does Amazon Prime membership cost?

Memberships start at £7.99 a month or £3.99 a month if you're a student.

New members can also take advantage of Amazon's free 30-day free trial of Prime in time for Prime Day. And if you're a student, you get a 6-month free trial before you start paying.

When does Prime Day start?

Prime day starts at midnight on Monday 21st June and ends on Tuesday 22nd June 2021.

Ahead of that, the retailer has started releasing early deals, with up to 45 per cent off Amazon products.

The 4th-generation Echo Dot has superior speakers compared to earlier versions. There's also a version with a built-in clock, which costs £34.99 during Prime Day.

50% off Echo Auto, now £24.99

If you fancy adding the Alexa digital assistant to your car, the Echo Auto is also 50% off during Prime Day at just £24.99. Echo Auto connects to the Alexa app on your phone and plays through the speakers in your car via auxiliary audio input or your phone's Bluetooth connection.
