With lockdown meaning we are spending more time at home than usual, social media has been the way that many of us are staying up to date and keeping in touch with loved ones.

In a time when the virtual community is more important than ever, it's great to keep tabs on where friends and family are up to, but sometimes people take it that bit too far. We're talking the oversharers, the humble braggers and the cringeworthy posters; things that leave us crying, 'Give Me Strength!'.

That's why, in partnership with Trebor's Extra Strong Mints, we're on a mission to find out what really gets under your skin, grinds your gears and rubs you up the wrong way, when it comes to posting on social media.

Trebor is all about keeping it real, which is why we've teamed up with them to call out some of those 'Give Me Strength' moments. To help us find them, we asked the British public to vote on how much they liked or disliked different activities on social media. And, LADbible readers certainly had a lot to say when it comes to oversharing on social media.

With an average of 26,000 votes on each poll, results showed that 86% of people disliked seeing relentless cringey relationship posts. It turns out that other people aren't quite as interested in that 100th shameless selfie of you and bae #withthisone.

Only 29% of people felt inspired by people posting 'random quotes' or, as one reader so eloquently put it, "stupid quotes that mean nothing". We're all about that #mondaymotivation but let's make sure it means something.

Like Trebor, many replies to the survey were calling for others to 'keep it real' with a huge 95% of people voting against posts which were clearly chasing likes; revealing that people are tired of the fakery on social media. There were also complaints about overly airbrushed or filtered pictures, unachievably perfect lives and unrealistic beauty standards. Give me strength - am I right?

It's not all bad news though, the results have shown that our friends, family and followers just want us to find the confidence to be ourselves - and what unlocks inner confidence better than having the freshest breath around?

Social media can be a place to learn, to connect with each other and, of course, to watch a hilarious cat video. We can all have a moan and groan about other people's behaviour on these channels, but in truth, how many of us will hit like on that cringey selfie we claim to hate?

So, what lessons can we learn here? You're never going to please everyone but keep it real, don't put your entire life online and, of course, don't be a troll. And, if you need an Extra Strong hit of confidence, make sure you've always got Trebor Extra Strong mints on hand and let that minty freshness help it all wash over you.
