1v1 and 3v3 Gunfight Modes Coming To 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare'
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's popular 2v2 Gunfight mode is going to be getting two new modes "at some point", according to staff at Infinity Ward.
In a Twitter exchange, co-design creator of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, Joe Cecot, was quick to confirm that not only was Gunfight getting a 3v3 mode, but also a 1v1 mode. Anybody who's played the mode as it is will know that the prospect of a 1v1 showdown on the claustrophobic maps would be incredibly fun, and guaranteed to get the adrenaline pumping.
Arguably one of the best new modes to be incorporated into Call of Duty's ever-expanding roster of player options, Gunfight sees two teams of two facing off against each other with a randomly selected arsenal of weapons, in an attempt to wipe out the other squad and emerge victorious.
We played Gunfight way back at E3 2019 in June, and were immediately enraptured with how much fun it was. This sentiment seems to have been echoed by the community at large, making it one of the most popular new introductions to Call of Duty in years.
With Modern Warfare's Season One free content update being announced so recently, we could be waiting a good while until we see these new modes released to the public. You'd expect something big like 1v1 and 3v3 versions of a popular mode to be included with a sizeable update.
We know Infinity Ward are preparing to drop two brand new maps for Gunfight, called Cargo and Atrium, alongside new maps for other new mode Ground War. There are also three classic maps returning to rotation in the forms of Crash, Vacant and Shipment.
You can read up more about this impending update arriving on December 3rd right here. But if you can't wait to hop into the Call of Duty action, there's double XP and weapon XP available right now until the launch of the update, so there's no better time to get some practise in before those Christmas noobs arrive.
