Battlefield 5's New Trailer Shows Off Their Brand New Battle Royale Mode

Battlefield 5's New Trailer Shows Off Their Brand New Battle Royale Mode

A new GamesCom trailer for the forthcoming Battlefield V game has just dropped, and there's one stand out feature from the two minute clip.

Although the whole trailer is a spectacle in itself, right at the end of the video, following a brief pause and change in tone, we're shown something quite interesting.

You can hear the repeated shouts of 'get back' from a frantic soldier, as the camera pans away to showcase a deadly ring of fire closing in on a small estate.

As well as the poor army man, a tank also seems to be fleeing it's inevitable, fiery destruction, and there's surely only one explanation for what this could mean.

BATTLEFIELD BATTLE ROYALE!

Yesterday we mentioned how DICE would be planning something big for their GamesCom trailer. And boy, did they.

It's no secret that there hasn't been nearly as many Battlefield V pre-orders as EA would've hoped for, and surely showing off a game mode like BR - right before a major event - is to try and combat this issue.

'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare' Battle Royale Mode Is Imminent

Obviously, fans of the war series are going to have mixed reviews. Many will be excited to try out the new mode, whilst others will hate the fact that a so called 'realistic' game is venturing down this path.

But can you really blame DICE? With the success both BR titles Fortnite and PUBG have had over the past year or so, is it any wonder AAA titles will be trying to follow suit? They've got to get players onto their game some how.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII is also set to implement a battle royale game mode, named Blackout, so it looks like the old rivalry between CoD and Battlefield will turn into the current Fortnite v PUBG.

Only time will tell if this teaser turns out to be a BR, and which game will make it better, so stay tuned for more updates as we're sure we'll be getting some very soon.

What do yo think about this trailer? Was it any good? Would you like a Battlefield battle royale? Let us know.
