'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Mysterious Bunkers Are Finally Opening
Infinity Ward released the latest update for Call Of Duty: Warzone earlier today, and it looks like it came with more than we bargained for. Several of the mysterious bunkers, which have been locked since the game first launched back in March, have finally started to open.
As spotted by CharlieIntel, players have finally been able to use the mysterious keycard items that were added in a recent update to unlock certain bunkers across the Verdansk map. Players are discovering special underground areas with loot boxes and other rare items inside. Take a look for yourself
Interestingly, there are also reports of telephones inside bunkers which ring, as well as a Russian voice speaking in morse code. The voice translates to: "All forces, the base is captured! Change the encryption!" "Right away!" "Roger." "...They're getting closer!"
I'm not sure, but this would imply to me that perhaps whatever was going on inside the bunkers had something to do with some kind of top secret Russian shenanigans? Some players are also seeing an unused nuclear warhead sitting in its case, suggesting that Season 4 might well kick off with a large-scale event that changes the very face of the map.

I would imagine we won't have long before we find out for sure, as Season 4 is expected to arrive at some point in early June. Infinity Ward's narrative director Taylor Kurosaki recently teased in an interview with GamerGen that new characters will be dropping into Verdansk to join the fight soon. He also suggested that there'll be more mysteries and clues to follow when the new season launches.
"Players have already discovered that there is a whole other part of Verdansk they haven't seen yet," he teased. "They have found clues, and that there is more than meets the eye in this city. Season 4 will unravel some of those mysteries and unlock some of them for our players."
This is obviously quite an exciting time for Warzone players, and we'll be sure to update you as and when the community digs up whatever other secrets are hiding in the battle royale's latest update.
Meanwhile, be sure to read up on all the patch notes we do know about, including a new Armor Box item and more weapons to use in the Gulag. We've also got a new, Classic Battle Royale mode. In this stripped down mode, players will have to drop into Verdansk and fight with no cash, loadout drops, buy stations, or the chance to respawn from the Gulag.
