COD Black Ops 4 Post Launch Content Heading To PS4 First

COD Black Ops 4 Post Launch Content Heading To PS4 First

It looks like PS4 players have the 'post launch content edge' for Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII - because they'll get it before anyone else. Again.

A statement from Activision reads: "We are excited to announce that in our continued partnership with PlayStation, following the launch of the highly-anticipated game, PS4 players will get to play new Black Ops 4 content first on PS4. This means all the playable content coming to the Black Ops universe after the game's release will come first to PS4, including new specialists and maps, as well as seasonal events."

In the past, Xbox, and PC players waited a whopping 30 days until they could enjoy the same Call of Duty content PS4's had. This time, however, it's not so bad - they'll only have to hang on for a week

Yep, every new Black Ops IIII map, specialist, event, and whatever else Treyarch decide to throw into the mix will be available on the PS4 seven days before everyone else catches up. Here's what's listed as extra content so far:

  • Nuketown: This fan-favorite map returns in November in an all-new take.
  • Specialists: The first of several new characters will debut in December.
  • Blackout: Launch day is only the start; Blackout will continue to evolve after launch with regular map updates, expansions and new Blackout modes.
  • Events: Seasonal, weekly, and time-limited events bringing new game modes and content to players.

This news was confirmed by the EU PlayStation Blog under a PS4 bundle description. It reads: "Post launch content released on PS4 7 days before other platforms. Exclusions apply."

Don't worry, Xbox players, a week will go by quicker than you can say Blackout. I know PS4 users have already had Spider-Man and God of War this year, but your time will come. Hang in there.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII will launch on 12 October for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. What do you think about this news? Let us know.
