'CoD: Modern Warfare' Now Shows You Your Deaths In-Game... For A Price

'CoD: Modern Warfare' Now Shows You Your Deaths In-Game... For A Price

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been hailed by many as a long-overdue return to form for the FPS franchise. Despite this, it's been met with a fair few criticisms since launching back in October. While by no means the most prevalent of the game's issues, some have spoken up about Infinity Ward's decision to omit a way to keep track of your deaths while in a match.

While playing through most of the modes in Modern Warfare, pulling up the scoreboard mid-game doesn't actually tell you how many times you've bitten the dust. It's only at the end of a match that this information becomes available.

Now, this is hardly seen as a major problem by most players. You can kind of make a mental note of how many times you've died, after all. Still, a number of players have argued that it's a particularly baffling feature to have omitted from the game - especially given that you could keep track of deaths in every previous Call of Duty title.

The good news is that there's now a way to amend this alleged oversight. The bad news is that it will cost you. If you head over to the recently-released in-game store, you'll be able to pick up the "Mother Russia" bundle for 2,000 COD Points. That's around £16.

As spotted by Multiplayer First, it seems that the Mother Russia bundle contains an item that will keep track of how many times your character has died during a game. The fittingly-titled "Time to Die" character watch keeps an eye on scoreboard deaths so that you don't have to wait until the end of a round to see how much you suck. Or don't, as the case may be.

The only problem is that it can't be picked up separately and is only available as part of the aforementioned bundle - at least for the time being. Those of you that want to keep track of your deaths while in the middle of a match will realistically need to fork out £16, then.

This is unlikely to go down terribly well with players who have been vocal about the missing feature on Reddit... especially since it was something that was readily available in previous titles.

The Mother Russia bundle was released as part of Modern Warfare's most recent update. In addition to the Time to Die watch, it also comes with a new Operator skin for Yegor, the 'Old Country' LMG weapon blueprint for high damage eliminations, the "Brass Tactics" Finishing Move, and more.

This collection of in-game items was joined by a second bundle ("Cold Blood"), and two new limited-time modes.
