This 'Cyberpunk 2077' Fan-Film Is Good Enough To Be Canon
Tired of waiting for Cyberpunk 2077? Me too. The good news is that a bunch of fans and cosplayers have teamed up to put together a stunning-looking fan film that should help soothe the agonising wait for the full game. Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program is far from official, but it certainly looks good enough to be canon.
Developer CD Projekt RED gave the film its own seal of approval too, sharing the teaser for the project on its official Twitter account. If that's not a glowing endorsement, I don't know what is. Especially since a lot of other companies would probably have hit Phoenix Program with a cease-and-desist rather than share it to millions of followers online.
Studio T7Pro, who you might remember from that incredible Darth Maul fan film a few years back, are the immensely skilled folk behind Phoenix Program. They've teamed up with some top-shelf talent, including official member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team Vi-Dan Tran, and Ben Bergmann/Maul Cosplay, who you've definitely seen on the internet dressed as Geralt Of Rivia at some point.

Bergmann is playing Keanu Reeves' Johnny Silverhand character, and he really does look the part. I'm expecting there to be more than a few sci-fi John Wick moments whenever the film finally releases. It's unclear what the exact plot of the film is, but the trailer gives off a gritty, futuristic gangland vibe that I seriously dig.
Work on the film has yet to finish thanks to the current global events, but the teaser makes it clear that we're in for something pretty amazing. With CD Projekt RED clearly willing to help signal boost this whenever it's finished, it should pull in a pretty massive audience.
In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, the ESRB recently released its official M+ rating for the game. There are some pretty exciting details buried in the official description, including the fact that you can customise the shape, size, and combination of your genitals. I'm not sure if the fan film will be diving into that particular aspect of the game, but we live in hope.
