Copies Of Fortnite Have Sold For £300+
People who own physical copies of Fortnite have been selling them on eBay for £300 plus.
The majority of us have played Fortnite and I bet most you got it from your respective platform store, as you do with most free-to-play games.
However, players who purchased the full game in store, which includes the Save the World mode, could have a small fortune sitting in their rooms.
To be honest, I didn't even know the game could been bought as a physical copy.
Fortnite seems to prosper from free downloads, and lets players purchase the full version in-game, so it never crossed my mind to go to my local GAME store to grab it.
Epic Games must have realised producing discs was a huge waste of money, which is why these lucky owners have been making a pretty penny.
The production of physical Forntite copies was undoubtedly cancelled so I guess you can say it's quite rare to own one, never mind being able to purchase one.
Ars Technica reported that although the average sale of the game is about £100, there've been many cases where prices have gone through the roof.
This eBay listing, which boats brand-new unopened versions at $449.99, says three have already sold at this price. Crazy!
We really don't see the point as the game is literally free to play, and the Save the World mode is supposedly following suit, but hey collectors will be collectors and if you can afford it why not.
