Game Of Thrones Cast Reunite To Play Live Dungeons & Dragons This Week

Game Of Thrones might be gone, but it'll never be forgotten. As much as I'm sure some people might try to erase the memory of those last few episodes, it had a pretty incredible run for a whole there, right? That's why I, for one, am thrilled to learn that a few cast members from HBO's epic fantasy series are reuniting... for a live game of Dungeons & Dragons.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Daniel Portman (Podrick), Gemma Whelan (Yara), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), and Natalia Tena (Osha) are coming together in honour of D&D Live 2020: Roll w/ Advantage. The special series of live games gets some of your favourite stars to get mythical and raise money for Red Nose Day.

The Game of Thrones stars will embark on their quest on Saturday, June 20th at 8pm BST. Kate Welch, game designer for Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast, will take on the role of Dungeon Master. She'll be guiding the stars through a campaign that sees a gang of heroes "meet an unusual creature that sets them on a strange task. Seems simple enough - but in a realm legendary for its danger, all is not what it seems."

"It's not all about brawl, man," Rheon said of the character he's created for this special games. "You gotta think your way through problems. Not like Ramsay Bolton, probably. Not gonna be very useful."

"The games I run tend to be ridiculous and goofy, which are two words I wouldn't apply to Game of Thrones, necessarily," Welsh told EW. "Super excited to see how these actors in particular let loose with the antics you typically find at a D&D table."

D&D Live 2020 doesn't stop with the Game Of Thrones crew, though. Oh my no. The event runs from June 18th to June 20th and features plenty of familiar faces as they get stuck into fantastical games.

On the 18th, Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil) will serve as Dungeon Master for a campaign with Amy Acker (Angel), Janina Gavankar (The Way Back), Matthew Lillard (Scream), and Sam Richardson (Veep). We can also look forward to Stranger Things star David Harbour teaming up with Brandon Routh (one of the best actors to play Superman imo) for a game. You can cast your eye over the official D&D website for the full schedule.
