Gearbox Finally Showed Off ‘Borderlands 3’ And Some Of Its 1 Billion Guns
Surprising no one, Gearbox is making Borderlands 3. The studio has been teasing the game for the past month and talking around its existence for two years now. But, still, a relief to know the co-op loot shooter is definitely, 100% being made, eh?
Set years after the last game, Borderlands 3 will feature a grown up Tiny Tina, and other returning characters such as Lilith, Brick, and, of course, Claptrap. See them all (briefly) in the reveal trailer:
During its reveal presentation, Gearbox CEO (and former stage magician) Randy Pitchford claimed that Handsome Jack, the villain of Borderlands 2 is definitely dead. Which we're taking to mean the charismatic antagonist is almost certainly alive and well.
With Handsome Jack being supposedly dead, new villains have risen up to take his place, and they're the Calypso Twins, Troy and Tyreen. The two run a cult called the Children of the Vault. Expect it to be readily staffed by the familiar psychos of earlier games.

The new vault hunters you'll be able to pick from are Amara, Zane, Flak, and Moze, who are a siren, operative, beastmaster, and soldier respectively.
While you will be returning to the treasure planet of Pandora, you won't be spending all your time on the one planet. Though, how extensive (and free) the exploration of the galaxy will be is still under wraps.
The Borderlands games always feature a mind-bogglingly large number of guns and this is no different - the trailer claims that Borderlands 3 features 1 billion of the blighters. That includes a little gun on legs that looks a lot like the Metal Gear Mk. II from Metal Gear Solid 4.
