Get This 'Skyrim' Pillow For The Friend Who's Finally Awake
We could probably all recall the opening scene of Skyrim from memory, if asked. Lord knows most of us have started the game enough times, right? As our eyes slowly open, we find ourselves trundling down a snowy mountain path in the back of a horse-drawn wagon.
Hands bound, it quickly becomes clear that we're prisoners headed to our own execution. We may never live to become the Stealth Archer we're destined to be. For the avoidance of any doubt, we're swiftly greeted by a fellow prisoner, Ralof of Riverwood, who speaks the now-iconic (and memeworthy) introduction and clarifies our situation.
"Hey you," he says. "You're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border. Right? Walked right into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there." Iconic stuff.
Ralof will surely go down in gaming history as an incredibly important character, mostly because he's the first person we ever speak to in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, That makes him kind of a big deal. He's such a big deal, in fact, that one Reddit user decided to gift his friend a pillow that depicts Ralof pointing out that "you're finally awake."

Redditor u/o0PETER0o (via PCGamesN) managed to put together the thoughtful gift via a website called bagsoflove.co.uk that makes customised socks, pillows, and the like. The customer submits the image, they create the product. I once did something similar for my wife, but I had the lyrics to our first dance printed on a pillow - I kind of wish I'd done this instead.
Being greeted by Ralof pointing out I'm finally awake every morning might prove a little unsettling at first, but I think I'd eventually grow to love seeing his cheeky face every time I rose to face the day's challenges.
Evidently, the Skyrim community agrees, as the post sharing an image of the gift currently has an impressive 33.3K upvotes and 8.9K comments, nearly all of which are positive. I'm expecting bagsoflove are about to flooded with a lot more memetastic requests ahead of the Christmas season.
Until such time as Bethesda announces that it's porting Skyrim to pillows, which is surely only a few years off, I think we can all make do with a Ralof pillow. I also wouldn't mind one of Ulfr the Blind or Oblivion's Adoring Fan, if anyone fancies getting me one for Christmas. Pretty please.
