'God Of War' Director Brilliantly Responds To Lack Of Sex Scenes In 2018 Game
While it's true that 2018's God of War reboot was pretty much everything we could've asked for, fans of the early games may have noticed that one thing was missing from the latest installment in the series - namely, the interactive sex "mini-games".
Given the way the game re-positioned Kratos as more of a conflicted and remorseful figure than the Vengeance Dude we remembered, this made sense... but not everyone was thrilled to see this "sexy" - and please note the use of inverted commas there - feature consigned to the bin.
One fan in particular - going by The Deity KRATOS on Twitter - took to the platform to inform the game's director Cory Barlog of this "oversight", and the response is just brilliant.
In case you can't view the tweet below on your device, here is Balrog's response in full: "Sex is great and all but have you tried carrying your wife's ashes to the top of a mountain in the frozen lands of myth and magic with your precocious BOI and a loquacious disembodied head on your belt?"
He does bring up several valid points, to be fair. I mean, apart from having your young son in tow, that disembodied head hanging at just the wrong height is sure to be a mood killer in even the most promising of situations.
Some of the responses to Barlog's tweet are also pure gold

There's been no confirmed news of a God of War sequel at this point, though it seems fairly safe to assume that there will be one. In fact, a recent tweet from Santa Monica Studio's Narrative Animator Kim Newman hints that development on the sequel could already be underway. And if you're wondering what direction a sequel might take, Cory Barlog spoke in an interview a few months ago, saying that he'd like to explore the meeting of Kratos and his wife, Faye.
"You get to understand that she has way more power than all of them," Barlog said. "And is actually the controller of so much in this universe. That way when we build this up to when you actually get to see this, and I hope... I don't know how we're going tell this or when we're going to tell this, but I really want to tell the story of Kratos and Faye meeting."
So if that is the subject matter for the next God of War game, who knows? I feel fairly confident that we'll see the return of those interactive raunchy scenes that were missing from Kratos' most recent outing.
