GTA Online Message Suggests GTA 6 Is Coming Out In 2019

GTA Online Message Suggests GTA 6 Is Coming Out In 2019

An 'official' message has popped up on Grand Theft Auto Online which suggests GTA VI will be releasing next year.

Whilst on the multiplayer game mode, a little box appeared in the bottom left corner of people's screens, stating that the next instalment to the franchise would be coming sooner than everyone thought.

Players were in hysterics and couldn't believe their luck. Rockstar would be releasing both Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA VI in the space of a year - no way! Actually, yes. No way. It was all a lie.

Well, technically it was. It's reported that the whole thing is just a clever hoax from a group of hackers. Well played!

Although the message looks very official and convincing, there are a couple of pointers which make us believe otherwise.

First of all, we haven't even had a sniff of a new GTA game being made. Surely there would have been some kind of leak or mention at E3?

Also, as stated before, there's just no way Rockstar could have produced this massive game alongside the equally as large Red Dead 2.

On average, the developers usually release a title every five years. This would match up great for the Red Dead sequel, but there's just no logic behind another GTA also coming out.

GamesRadar also highlighted the fact that only mod capable platforms had the message delivered, but even still not everyone accessible actually got the announcement. Coincidence? I think not.

Obviously, we can't bat off every chance of it not happening. We give it a 0.1% possibility, but for the optimistic people out there, that's still a chance!

The lack of evidence supporting the message didn't stop the internet from going mad, however, and some people really do believe it's coming (home) out next year.

What do you think? Real deal or big fat lie? Let us know!
