'I Am Jesus Christ' First Trailer Brings New Meaning To Cross-Play
That Jesus Christ fella. He had quite a life, didn't he? One jam-packed with memorable adventures - like that time he died and came back to life. Or the thing with the fish. I'm sure you've often found yourself wondering if you'd ever be able to play a video game adaptation of some Jesus' famous moments. I mean, Spider-Man and Batman both have critically-acclaimed titles under their belts. Why not Jesus?
"Become Jesus Christ, the famous man on Earth - in this highly realistic simulation game," publisher PlayWay writes on Steam. Players will be able to pray, heal and feed people, perform various miracles, and generally potter around being the saviour of humanity. You know, typical Jesus stuff.
Oh, it sounds like we'll also be able to "fight Satan in the desert," and exorcise demons. Frankly, that sounds like a sick thing to be able to do in a video game, regardless of your religious views. Come at me Satan, you plumb. Get ready to catch these holy hands.

As far as I can see, it looks like I Am Jesus Christ will only be available on PC via Steam, and even then I can't see a release date beyond the vague promise of "coming soon." Hopefully it drops just in time for Christmas so we can all celebrate Jesus' Birthday the way he would have wanted: With a video game dedicated to him.
As someone with very little reason to care about Jesus or his adventures beyond having Catholic grandparents, I can say with some certainty that I Am Jesus Christ is not a game I'll be rushing to buy whenever it does come out.
With that said, it looks like it should be a hit with the intended audience - especially younger gamers who might be interested in learning more about the adventures of Jesus. Or at the very least, young gamers with parents who want them to learn more about Jesus. I bet my nan would have loved it, too.
