IKEA Is Bringing Out A Line Of Pro Gaming Furniture With ASUS ROG

IKEA Is Bringing Out A Line Of Pro Gaming Furniture With ASUS ROG

If you covet pro gaming gear at an affordable price, 2021 may well have what you seek. Swedish furniture juggernaut IKEA has announced a partnership with Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers). The unexpected collaboration will lead to a new line of affordable gaming furniture, which is expected to launch next year. We just have to survive 2020 first.

While we still don't know exactly what to expect from this team-up, IKEA has confirmed that around 30 products will be released in total. These will all fall under the umbrella of "gaming furniture and accessories", and will be priced affordably. I imagine gaming chairs and desks are a given, but I'm really hoping for some kind of all-in-one bed/desk/chair too. We've seen such a thing before, and it looks fantastic.

Designers and engineers from both IKEA and Asus ROG are apparently working together right now to imagine what this range might look like. They've even been working with pro gamers for feedback and input, so expect some pretty decent stuff to come out of this.

'High-Performance Furniture' For Gaming Is Coming... For Some Reason

Whatever the range ends up looking like, China get first dibs on it starting from February 2021. The launch will then be rolled out to other regions from October 2021, so we're at least more than a year away from getting our hands on this new swag.

Kris Huang, General Manager of Asus Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit, commented in a press release: "Together with IKEA as an expert in home furnishing, we envision that this collaboration will create synergies that empower gamers to build the gaming space they have always imagined in the comfort of their own homes."

If you can't wait until 2021 and have more money than sense, you could always get your hands on a powerful new gaming setup that essentially seats you inside a giant robot scorpion. As we reported yesterday, the Cluvens IW-SK zero-gravity esports gaming chair and workstation is without doubt one of the most extra gaming chairs ever created.

The incredibly elaborate setup serves as an all-in-one chair and desk solution for gamers, supporting an ultra-wide 49-inch monitor... or three curved monitors at around 27-inches each. There are even pre-built HDMI/DP cables to connect to monitors, making it an absolute monster. if IKEA is aiming for affordable, I wouldn't expect anything quite like this from them.
