After delaying the release of Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo has finally announced that Mario and co. will be heading to mobile next month, treating us to a trailer to get everyone in the mood.

The new game was supposed to be available in March 2019, but Nintendo decided to delay its release in order to give things a bit of a polish.

Now, it looks like the final touches have been made, meaning the mobile-friendly racing game is ready to roll out on 25 September.

Gamers are already excited to get their hands on the game, with one writing on Twitter: "I NEED ITTTT NOW."

Another added: "I'M READY TO WIN!"

Others speculated as to which characters we might see in the game. While the likes of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Yoshi, Toad and Peach can be seen in the promotional image, some are asking Nintendo to add Pauline, who has cropped up in various games throughout the year including 2017's Super Mario Odyssey.

Mind you, most people were just distracted by the sheer size of Bowser's jaw - a fair observation; dude must just be absolutely hyped for Mario Kart Tour to finally drop.

One Twitter user commented: "Bowser has expanded his jaw, now he can chomp everyone in his way."

Another said: "Haha the size of Bowser's mouth."

A third agreed: "I like how Bowser's mouth is just almost the entirety of the face."

According to Engadget, The game is free-to-start, but you can choose to spend money to unlock features - and maybe characters.

Race courses are inspired by iconic real-life locations, which apparently rotate every two weeks.

If you're eager to get involved, you can head over to the Mario Kart Tour website, where you can pre-register for both Android and iOS to get notified as soon as the game is ready to download.
