Microsoft Reveal Awesome New Air Jordan-Branded Xbox One X
Microsoft has teamed up with Nike to deliver a brand-new Xbox One X console based on Michael Jordan's Air Jordan brand. It's not exactly a custom console I was ever expecting, but it sure is a beauty. The new bit of kit boasts a pretty gorgeous custom red finish, with the famous Jordan elephant print on top.
Naturally, a custom console comes with a natty new custom controller, and this one doesn't disappoint. The new controller has that same red finish with the Jumpman logo stylishly nestled in the corner. Take a look at it for yourself below. I've gotta say, I'm really not into sports - not even a little bit - but I can't deny that this is a properly stunning little number. I'm a sucker for red, to be fair.
You probably won't be surprised to learn that this new console is all part of a bit of shameless cross-company promotion. The new Air Jordan III Retro U sneaker is set to launch this weekend, just as the NBA All-Star weekend kicks off in Chicago. Clearly, Microsoft and Nike picked just the right moment to make their move.

The bad news is that you won't actually be able to buy one of these bad boys for yourself. Well, I guess that's only bad news if you were impressed enough to want one, otherwise this is very much just... news. Microsoft hasn't made many, and they're only being given away as part of a competition that runs until February 27th.
If you're feeling lucky, you can retweet this tweet from Microsoft's Xbox account to be in with a chance to win one for yourself. Rules apply, obviously, and the winners will be announced in March. Even if you don't actually want the console, I'd imagine you could sell such a limited-edition number for a decent price to a collector somewhere down the line.
Microsoft absolutely loves making super-rare limited edition consoles that send collectors into a wild frenzy. In the past few years alone, we've seen a gorgeous Gears of War model, and a custom build by The Chainsmokers. No, seriously. That was a particular weird one, I have to say.
Oh, and who could forget those absolutely stunning models inspired by Game of Thrones? Those consoles were particularly slick, I have to say. It was just a shame that they were also not for sale, and could only be bagged by entering an official giveaway. One day I will make one of these custom beauties mine. One day...
