'Minecraft' Modders Build The Harry Potter RPG Of Our Dreams
I've no doubt that one day, Warner Bros will give us the open world Harry Potter RPG we so desperately crave. Those bang-average Fantastic Beasts spinoff movies have proven, if nothing else, that the studio has no issue with milking the magical franchise. So I guess that's... sort of good news for fans?
Sadly, exactly when such a game might apparate into our lives is anyone's guess at this stage. Rumours started to circulate a while back, claiming Warner Bros was developing a Harry Potter RPG adventure with open world elements, but we've heard nothing official. Hopefully 2020 is the year the company decides to unveil this mythical creation. Until then, we have Minecraft School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry to keep us ticking over.
An open world Harry Potter RPG made in Minecraft? Sign me the heck up. You can check out the jaw-dropping trailer below. I'll be completely honest, as a massive Harry Potter fan, it made me just a little bit misty-eyed.
I'm always amazed by the things modders are able to come up with. Every now and again, though, the level of dedication, passion, and creativity shown by a team of modders genuinely blows my mind. It probably goes without saying, but this substantial Minecraft mod is very much one of those mind-blowing cases.

Stunningly Realistic Open-World RPG 'Medieval Dynasty' Is Basically 'Age Of Empires' Meets 'Minecraft'
Minecraft School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry is the outstanding work of a team of modders known as The Floo Network. They've spent the last four years creating a massive replica of the Harry Potter world in Minecraft. Everything from Privet Drive and King's Cross Station to the entirety of Hogwarts, with its many secret chambers and classrooms, are present and correct. You can even explore the Ministry of Magic, the Burrow, and Hogsmede.
The prospect of exploring a detail recreation of the Potterverse is surely enough of a draw in itself for Potter fans, but The Floo Network didn't stop there. A complete and surprisingly substantial RPG has been baked into the game. You can attend classes, learn spells, battle evil, solve puzzles, and explore the world at your leisure. You can even play Quidditch, which is the icing on an already delicious cake.
The project is supported via a Patreon, and I strongly urge you to head over there and chuck them a few quid, if you can. What The Floo Network has done is truly, genuinely amazing. This is the Harry Potter of our dreams, made by fans, for fans. If Warner Bros really is working on an official Harry Potter RPG, these modders have set the bar incredibly high.
