New 'Apex Legends' Event Promotes Best Players Into An Elite Game
Apex Legends' Legendary Hunt event has launched, bringing with it a best of the best game lobby, new challenges, and new skins and other rewards. The event will be running until July 2, so if you want to prove you're the best Apex Legends player then you've a month to do it. Alongside the event's launch is a new patch that fixes a stack of issues with the game and improves performance in a bunch of ways.
The biggest part of the Legendary Hunt event is something called the Apex Elite Queue which runs from now until July 2. It's basically the battle royale of battle royales. Players who make it into the final five of a game are then queued up to enter a new game against only other players that made it into the final five. To go with these new elite games are new badges that will track your wins in the Legendary Hunt.
In the special final five games, the ring closes faster than usual and the damage that comes from being caught out of bounds has been increased.
There have also been two new skins added for battle pass owners - the Legendary Honored Prey R-301 skin and the Wraith Knight Terror Legendary skin.
There are also new challenges to go along with the launch of the Legendary Hunt and you have until June 18 to complete them. They're:
- Legendary Hunt Badge - Finish in the Top 5 in any match. Tracks your longest Top 5 streak in the Elite Queue.
- Rare Wolfpack G7 Scout weapon skin - Finish in the Top 5 in an Apex Elite match.
- Epic Master of the Hunt Bloodhound Legend skin - Finish in the Top 5 in any queue five times (consecutive or nonconsecutive).
- Legendary Tamed Beast Triple Take weapon skin - Win twice in any queue (consecutive or nonconsecutive).
