‘Overwatch’ Now Has The ‘Portal’ Gun Thanks To Modders
Some canny modders have used the Overwatch Workshop to recreate Portal's iconic portal gun in Blizzard's shooter. The weapon lets you fire the entrance and exit of a portal and walk through it. The portal also conserves momentum, much like in Portal, so you can use portals to build up speed and then fling yourself across the map.
Last month Blizzard released the Overwatch Workshop, an in-game modding tool that let players change the rules of the game to create new modes. For instance, one mode that Blizzard released was Molten Floor, where if you touch the ground you take fire damage - forcing players to keep on the move.
You can see Portal's gun in action in the video the developers released:

It's a seriously impressive addition to Overwatch, pushing the limits of what the Workshop was expected to be able to allow. Now, whether we'll start to see Portal's gun appear in different workshop mods is another matter. Imagine an Overwatch hero that could fight with portals - you could use them to get around, sure, but also drop them under your enemies to teleport them out of the map.
If you want to play around with the mod yourself, you can find it at BE2J7. That's not a post code, but the unlock code in the workshop.
