‘Persona 5’ And Loads Of Other Anime Coming To All 4

Channel 4 has announced plans to add hundreds of hours of anime to its All 4 streaming service. Some of the series added are absolute classics, like Cowboy Bebop and Kill La Kill, while others are more recent releases like the Persona 5 adaptation.

There are 14 different series, with 285 dubbed episodes going live in total. There are ten series live at the moment which I've listed below:

  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Durarara!!
  • The Vision of Escaflowne
  • Carcaptor Sakrua
  • Megalo Box
  • Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin
  • Charlotte
  • The Dragon Dentist
  • Tokyo Ghoul
  • Inuyasha

Still to come are Kill La Kill, Gurren Lagann, Persona 5: The Animation, and Sword Art Online: Alicization.

I've only seen a few of these myself, but, if you're new to anime, Cowboy Bebop is an excellent starting point. It's a single series about a collection of bounty hunters travelling across the galaxy hunting down criminals. It's dripping with cool and has an incredible soundtrack. Just check out the opening credits to see what I mean (you can watch it here if reading on mobile):

I'm keen to dive into The Dragon Dentist based entirely on the premise of someone being the personal dentist for the scaly beast that protects her nation. But, also, as a big fan of Persona 5, when that series is added to All 4 I'll definitely be giving it a watch. It looks to follow the action of the game, so the story will be about Ren forming the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and heading into the Metaverse to battle the monstrous psychic constructs of the people he meets in the real world.

I hope Channel 4 plans to continue adding to this list as I'd really like to see series like Outlaw Star, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Yuri On Ice turn up there.
