‘Resident Evil 3’ Remake Is “90% Ready” And “More Action-Packed”
While Christmas Eve is an exciting time, what with it proceeding Christmas Day and all that turkey, it is also a sad time. It's the last day of our advent calendars, the daily opening of little doors and eating chocolates has come to an end. Happily, to get us through the difficult months between Christmasses, there are magazines, which give is something of the same joy opening a thing up and finding delights held within.
That's what's happened with the latest copy of Famitsu, the Japanese gaming publication. A reader has found an interview with the team making the Resident Evil 3 Remake and translated the key details for those of us who can't read Japanese and/or are in mourning over our advent calendars.
Speaking with producers Peter Fabiano and Masachika Kawata, Famitsu found out lots of little details about Resi remake's current state and the extent of its deviation from the original game's design. Apparently the game is already 90% ready with no sign of delays pushing it from its March 4 release date.

While it had been said before, the producers reiterated that the opening scene in the reveal trailer, which takes place in a first-person perspective as Jill sprints from danger, was purely a cinematic choice. You won't be playing the game in first-person, it uses an over the shoulder view, as was used in the Resident Evil 2 Remake.
While the two producers wouldn't go into details, apparently Brad Vickers, member of the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team, who features prominently in the early Resi games has been significantly reworked for this remake. Apparently, "Brad turned out quite neatly," Kawata said.
While we expected a Resident Evil 3 Remake, particularly after the success of the Resi 2 Remake, I don't know if we thought it would be coming out this soon. The last Resi game was released in the early months of 2019, so it really wasn't all that long ago. Still, if the team can match the quality of that remake then we'll be in for a treat. The Resi 2 Remake is easily one of the best games released this year. I've been playing it recently and it's a gorgeous thing to look at - you know, between trying to hide behind my hands.
