Stranger Things Is Coming To ‘Fortnite’ Because Of Course It Is

Stranger Things Is Coming To ‘Fortnite’ Because Of Course It Is

Fortnite crossover events seem to happen more frequently than some people pass solids, so it's no surprise whatsoever to see that another's on the horizon for the battle royale hit - this time for one of Netflix's biggest shows.

Stranger Things returns to the streaming service on July 4, for its third season. And, around about then - though we're not sure exactly when - Stranger Things-related content will roll out into Fortnite. And how do we know this? Reliable Fortnite leaker @lucas7yoshi tells us so. And no, that's not their real name. We think.

Here's a tweet, from a little earlier:

Turn back time a little further, and when Season 9 of Fortnite started, players could find a shop called Scoops Ahoy in the (checks notes, doesn't play Fortnite) game's Mega Mall. In trailers for season three of Stranger Things, like this one, we can see the character Steve working in the very same place.

The above screenshot of the in-game Scoops Ahoy comes from Fortnitenews.com.

Exactly what is going to come to Fortnite remains to be seen, but if there's no Demogorgons running around (checks notes, doesn't play Fortnite) Loot Lake, or Sunny Steps, or Snobby Shores, then something's gone very wrong indeed. Or maybe the whole game will transition to the Upside Down? That'd be cool. Maybe.

I can't see the kids from the show being available as avatars, though - as surely popping bullets into their noggins, or whacking them upside the skull with mallets, would push the game past its current PEGI 12 rating. Does Fortnite have mallets? I don't care.

Should I care? Let us know - we're on Twitter and Facebook, and we're now live on Snapchat Discover, too.
