The New ‘Borderlands 3’ Trailer Is An Explosive Love-In

If you've been disappointed by the lack of dancing and roses in Borderlands 3's trailers so far then the new trailer is perfect you and your oddly specific demands. The whole thing is set to The Turtles 'So Happy Together', so, even if you were fine with the lack of roses and dancing, there's something for everyone.

You can see the trailer embedded below (or, if you're reading this on mobile, through the link here):

The trailer is a real fever dream of a video, a kaleidoscope of colour and imagery. You see lines of psychos moving as one, like synchronised dancers. Cartoon roses popping out of the ground. And at one point a psycho dancing on the back of a bullet in a homage to Dr Strangelove or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

The new trailer doesn't contain any big reveals or show off any significant new features, but it is a stylish introduction to the world and characters of Borderlands 3. Certainly, if the tone of this trailer is anything to go by, the game's story isn't going to be about the stresses and tensions of life on Pandora, but will lean into the sheer joy of shooting guns, piloting mechs, and watching a hound-like Skag go to town on all the enemies you can see.

‘Borderlands 3’ Is Getting Tougher Pets And An Overhauled Mayhem Mode

Borderlands 3 is still a few months off from release, with it due to launch on September 13. It's been seven years since the release of Borderlands 2, so a lot of fans are chomping at the bit to get at the new game. Of course, we've had Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Tales from the Borderlands in that time, but even then we're talking five years since a new Borderlands game. It's about time we could head back to Pandora and get our hands on millions of new guns.
