‘The Witcher 3’ Is Coming To The Nintendo Switch, Probably Thanks To Wizards

The rumours were true, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Nintendo Switch, proving once and for all that it is the little console that could. Or, that can, I suppose. Quite how CD Projekt RED's hardware-busting RPG is able to run on such a tiny machine is a piece of wizardry. The entire game will be available on a single cartridge, too.

We don't know what sacrifices had to be made to get the game onto the Switch (hardware or blood sacrifices), but it doesn't really matter when you're taking on the Wild Hunt on your commute.

CD Projekt RED isn't just bringing the base game over to the Nintendo Switch, it's also bringing the expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, too. That's a huge package to be able to play on a handheld. And, for a game that came out in 2015, I can see it easily becoming one of the biggest games released on the Switch, so far. After all, who doesn't want more Witcher.

It's also worth noting that it seems like everything is contained on the Switch game card itself, so there's no need to download anything and eat up that valuable storage space.

The Witcher 3 on Switch - What's Included

With The Witcher 3 making its way to Nintendo Switch, it's a sign that there is no longer any major game we can really rule out from appearing on Nintendo's console. High up on the wish-list for future conversions will, of course, be Cyberpunk 2077 - if CD Projekt RED can manage it once, why not let lightning strike twice. But, also this means we can look at games like Marvel's Avengers, Ubisoft's newly announced Gods & Monsters, and maybe even Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The key question after all of this, though, is what does it mean for Geralt coming to Super Smash Bros?
