Rockstar Games' Bully 2 could be with us towards the end of 2020, if the rumours are to be believed.

Said gossip began after popular Swedish gaming YouTuber SWEGTA shared a video on Sunday, in which he claimed to have received some insider info about the long-awaited sequel, as Complex reports.

In the video, SWEGTA says he got a message from a Rockstar Games insider who made claims that Bully 2 has been scheduled to hit the shelves in October or November of next year.

Sure, that's still some 14 years after the original was released, but at least it's better late then never.

Plus, SWEGTA makes the very good point that the rumoured timeline would make sense in the wider context of next year's next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles - bolstering 2020 even more as one hell of a year for the gaming community.

Bully 2 will also be reportedly released on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Scarlett, and Xbox One.

Citing his source, SWEGTA said: "The motive for this is purely financial - just like with GTA V on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One."

While Rockstar hasn't confirmed - or denied - the rumours just yet, that's not stopped fans from getting themselves tentatively hyped up. So much so, in fact, that it started trending on Twitter yesterday:

One fan tweeted: "Bruh when Bully 2 drops it's over yo omg. I still got Bully from PS2... CLASSIC."

Another wrote excitedly: "If Bully 2 is real and coming next year, I will s*** my pants, change them, and then s*** some more."

The original 2006 school-yard adventure followed James 'Jimmy' Hopkins' quest to rise through the ranks at Bullworth Academy.

It's been too long since we threw Algie in a rubbish bin, took part in classroom minigames, or got into an unwinnable fight with a prefect - so here's to hoping all that hearsay about Bully 2's autumn 2020 release are true.

LADbible has contacted Rockstar Games for comment.
