Reports Suggest That The New iPhone Could Cost Over $1000

Bloody hell.

The last time I queued up for anything for the midnight release was the final Harry Potter book at Skelmersdale Asda. I was the only one in fancy dress and it still brings back terrible waves of cringe. Don't be like me. Wait until the next day at least.

If you are one of those people who needs the new iPhone immediately after its release, then you might want to start checking down the back of your sofa for spare change now.

The 10th anniversary iPhone is reportedly going to cost upwards of $1,000. Yes, that's right, just over £800.

A source 'with knowledge of Apple's plans' told The Fast Company that Apple plans to launch three different devices this year. A 5.8-inch model (believed to be called the iPhone 8), a 5.5-inch model (called iPhone 7s Plus), and a 4.7-inch model (called iPhone 7s).

The features sound particularly cool, with a new OLED display that will stretch across the whole front of the phone. It's believed that this feature is the main contributor towards the new hefty price tag, as it's going to cost Apple twice as much as their current LCD display.

Good news for everyone who struggles with iPhone's shitty memory, as apparently that's getting an upgrade too.

The source also added that the iPhone 8 will 'likely be made from stainless steel' and there'll be 'glass panels on the front and back of the device.

If you like where the home button is... tough. It's going to 'be relocated underneath the display surface' which will give the front of the phone 'the appearance of a smooth black monolith'.

They reckon that the physical buttons on the sides of the iPhone will be replaced with 'touch-sensitive inlays in the metal'.

What's the worst thing about iPhones though? The BATTERY LIFE. Is that getting a boost?!

Apparently so.

Plus, 3D-sensing technology. What's that? I hear you ask. Well, it's something that could be used for facial recognition or some form of augmented reality application.

Remember though, lads. None of this has been confirmed by Apple. So until the release date (which is generally in September, but the source thinks could be earlier this year) we won't know definitively.

People love making up their own concepts for the new iPhones though, check out this awesome one by Imran Taylor.
