New £21 'Luggage Teleport' Service Could Be About To Make Hauling Bags Around On Holiday A Thing Of The Past

New £21 'Luggage Teleport' Service Could Be About To Make Hauling Bags Around On Holiday A Thing Of The Past

The final day of your holiday is bad enough without constantly getting hit in the back of the legs with a bag full of all of your stuff

Holidays are fantastic. It's amazing to get away to somewhere a bit sunnier than the UK (basically anywhere) and relax, eat nice food, drink nice beer, and do whatever you feel like (usually nothing).

However - as with everything in life - even the best things are not without their problems. Some parts of the holiday experience can be an absolute ball-ache.

Airports, for a start. They are overcrowded, expensive, and more often than not you end up standing in a queue for a queue for your plane. It can be painful stuff, but unfortunately unavoidable, unless you REALLY like driving, or want to take three or four days to get anywhere.

Luggage too. Luggage is a pain in the arse that follows you around on your journey. You have to lug it to the airport, from the airport, and in between you have to hope against hope that it doesn't mysteriously disappear and end up in Madagascar instead of Malaga.

Well, NO MORE!

Passengers walking with their suitcases could be a thing of the past.

Some bright sparks have found the solution - it's called Luggage Teleport.

When you arrive at the airport of your destination, someone will come and take your bags from you and bring them to your hotel.

When you leave, you'll be able to enjoy your last day without hauling around a giant sack full of dirty socks and pants, because some helpful soul will have arrived ahead of time to take it to the airport where it will be patiently waiting for you.

The service has an app to track your baggage's progress, and they use special locks to protect your things - even your dirty socks - they will also send you photos of your luggage's safe arrival. You could even make a scrapbook or something.

Before you get too excited, the service is only available in Las Vegas and San Francisco for now, and if it arrives in England it will cost about £21 for two bags and £7 for additional bags.

There are a few services that already offer a similar service if you absolutely can't bear carrying your bags around with you. AirPortr will pick your bags up and take them, but only if you live in London and it costs about £30 per bag.

Emirates is currently trialling a similar thing in the Middle East whereby bags are electronically checked in whilst in a van on the way to the airport.

Speaking to Gulf News, a spokesperson said: "At Emirates, we continually invest in innovative ways to improve the customer experience.

"At the moment we are trialling several initiatives to provide greater convenience for our customers and will share details when they become available."

So - fingers crossed - your days of luggage making your final day of holiday even worse could be numbered.
