The iOS 10 shit has hit the fan, with Apple users already reporting that the operating system update has bricked their phone.

Users across the world have said that the update has temporarily bricked phones, or that their phones required them to connect to iTunes to complete the installation.

The problem could mean that users who haven't backed up their phones could lose important data, such as photos and videos.

As usual people have been taking to Twitter to whine about the problem...

An Apple spokesperson said: "We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability. The problem was quickly resolved and we apologise to those customers."

The company now says users are safe to proceed with installing iOS 10.

This isn't the first time the company has fucked up an operating system launch. A few months ago, the initial iOS 9.3.2 rollout bricked the company's 9.7-inch iPad Pro, leading to Apple temporarily pulling back the update.
