There are loads of accounts on Instagram that help put a smile on your face. One of those is Brown Cardigan and it was a hilarious source of funny videos, memes and pictures from Australia.

However, it seems like the account has gone too far, according to Instagram, because it has been shut down and can't be found on the platform.

Naturally, the owner of Brown Cardigan is pissed off and has released a statement.

Brown Cardigan/Instagram

"As many of you would already know, @browncardigan was officially removed from Instagram on September 12th, 2019. This happened against our will and without prior warning from Instagram. We are yet to receive any formal notification from Instagram as to why this has happened.

"Obviously we're bloody guttered by this.

"We're currently doing everything we can to get in contact with Instagram to try and resolve this. This isn't a full-stop. And we'll keep you posted as this issue progresses, as well as what we decide to do next."

This wasn't just some small-time shitposting account, they had amassed a decent 62,000 followers in their time on Instagram. They're still operating on Facebook and YouTube as well as their website as they look into the issue.

The owner posted screenshots of what Instagram had flagged as issues, with many being breaches of the site's 'Harassment and Bullying' policy.

Brown Cardigan insists that it never posts something without someone's permission and they attribute all their material, so it's beggar's belief why it would still be flagged.

The owner of the site has told Monster Children: "From our perspective, though, it's clear that there's been little or no actual 'human' involvement in this process, as there's an obvious lack of logic in the application of the violations."

But they reckon they know what has led to their stuff being flagged so much to Instagram admins.

"So, you get people upset, hurling abuse in the dm's and getting themselves blocked," the owner said.

"Then you get people reporting posts just for revenge, and even though the reported posts don't fit the cause, with Instagram being as sensitive as they are at the moment, they take them as truth and put them in the bin."

There's no word on when we can expect to see the account return, if at all. So, until then we'll just have to play a waiting game and hope that it gets back up and running soon.
