While there might be the odd black spot or two in Australia when it comes to mobile coverage, our mobile data speeds aren't too bad.
Well, get prepared to go all hyper drive on that loading screen because 5G is here.

Yep - incredibly fast Internet has landed in Australia, being only the third country in the world to get the technology. The only downside to the announcement is that it's only available on Telstra and no other network...yet.
According to 7 News, other providers will get access to 5G in the coming months. The technology provides speeds between 10 to 20 times faster than 4G, which is pretty bloody impressive considering how quick that can be at the best of times.
Telstra's website says: "5G combines with 4G technology to provide customers the best possible speeds and coverage wherever they are. Our 5G is built upon the firm foundation of our superfast and extensive 4GX coverage which is why Telstra has Australia's largest, fastest and reliable mobile network.
"Our 5G devices not only provide access to Australia's first 5G, but are designed to support Australia's fastest average 4G speeds in 4GX coverage areas."
Having a look at the company's coverage map it's clear that the service is in the niche stage at the moment.
Only pockets of the CBD and maybe some surrounding suburbs have access to 5G, however the Gold Coast seems to have the best coverage.

It's available in 12 cities at the moment but in the next few months it'll be rolled out to around 35 places.
At the moment only the HTC Hub and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G are compatible with the technology, so it seems like we'll be waiting a bit before it's common place to complain about how bad 5G is.
Telstra CEO, Andy Penn said: "The roll out of 5G coverage is ongoing and, as 5G develops, there will be more devices and more technologies to come. But this is an important step we take today, as the first Australian network to offer mobile 5G."
It'll be a welcome introduction to Australia considering our broadband speed is terrible.
That's according to a survey by Ookla, which shows the land Down Under has slipped three places on the global rankings to 62nd with an average speed of 35.11Mbps.
Singapore took out the top spot, with 199.62Mbps, with Hong Kong, Monaco and Romania coming in behind.
Those figures mean our internet is worse than Kazakhstan's, Ukraine's and Trinidad and Tobago's.
