Smart Pot Plant Turns Your Green Pet Into A Tamagotchi
As you get older, it's totally normal for you to start taking an interest in plants.
They help decorate your apartment or house and also give you the tiniest bit of responsibility for keeping something alive that isn't yourself.
Essentially, if you don't trust yourself to get a pet then a plant is a really good first step. However, because plants can't communicate with you like a baby or dog, there can be a high chance of killing it.
Sure, plants will usually change colour or start malting when they're not feeling great but sometimes that means you're too late to save it.
Well, if you're ever wanted to know just how your plant is really feeling, a trio of inventors has gone and made a smart pot plant that tells you exactly what it wants.
Lua kind of turns your plant into a Tamagotchi with it's little eyes and smiley mouth.
According to the IndieGoGo site, Lua is designed to turn your plant into a pet.
'Using sensors, the smart planter triggers 15 different universal animated emotions. It measures soil's moisture, light exposure and temperature to keep your houseplant alive and well'.
When you get your plant acquainted with Lua, you just download the app, tell it what kind of green you're dealing with and it will create a QR code that the planter will read.
From there, it will use the information about the plant to tell you when it needs to be watered and if you're overwatering it, if it needs more or less shade and more or less heat.
It genuinely makes owning a plant idiot-proof.
"Lua turns your favourite plant into a spirited virtual pet! It's the perfect addition to your inner garden houseplants: its lively personality makes it the ideal plant companion," the website reads.
It's hoped the product will start shipping in December this year, meaning you could be looking at the world's best Christmas present.
