You Can Make Nearly £12,000 In Gold Bars Thanks To This 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Glitch
Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the most anticipated computer games of all time, so it's no surprise the sequel's been receiving rave reviews since its release last month.
In addition to its stunning attention to detail and unrivalled graphics, alongside the spectacular story of Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang, players have been hard at work figuring out the glitches and cheats to make the most out of their gaming experience.
Although a number of cheats were revealed in the run-up to the game's release, a new glitch has been found (and heavily exploited) by players that lets you make huge sums of cash without having to put the leg work in. Which, for a game that is characteristically stingy with its payouts, is a pretty big deal.
According to Gamesradar, the success rate varies, but some players have reported making up to $15,000 (nearly £12,000) at a very fast rate. That would certainly save a lot of time selling horses and robbing strangers.
There are a couple of gold bar loopholes, the most recent relating to the burnt out sheriff's office in Limpany, north of Flatneck Station.
As detailed by a YouTube tutorial on Raz, the first thing you'll want to do is disable the autosave system and ensure you're not wanted by the police, as this will stop the story from being saved - a crucial step.
One you're at the office, open the loot box behind the desk where you'll find one gold bar. Instead of picking this up, as Arthur bends down to grab the gold, pause and manually save the game before entering a new load you've just created.
When you come back, the gold should still be in the box and the gold that you took before should end up in your satchel. And Bob's your Uncle, you're one rich motherfucker.
Reddit user MagnusTS pointed out that the inventory cap is 30 bars, and with each bar selling for $500, that's $15,000 in a very short space of time.
Let it be known that there are many gamers, potentially even yourself, who don't like to bother with cheats and glitches and would rather just play the game organically. Which is totally fine, of course.
But for those who would like to make bank and make it fast, keep in mind that Rockstar will likely sort out this loophole as soon as they're notified of it, so get in there quick to make the most of it while you still can. Happy looting!
