One quarantined TikToker has shown what it is really like arriving back in the UK from a red list category country.
@Emilouisey arrived back in the UK from Turkey on June 26 - and has recorded her journey plane to quarantine hotel, what her room is like, the breakfast the guests receive and the food menu they get to choose from.
After her fourth connecting flight, Emily arrived back into London Heathrow and onto to a bus which took her to passport control - where she had to queue for two and half hours.
Then it was another two and half hour journey via bus to Luton, and her quarantine hotel - a Holiday Inn Express, which has a double bed, ensuite and a desk and chair.
"You have no say on which hotel you stay at, it's just randomly assigned," she says. She was also keen to show off her view of Luton airport's long stay car park. "Better than i was expecting to be honest."
But what about breakfast? Delivered every day at around 7:30am, there's a knock at the door with breakfast left outside. "Your food is delivered in a brown paper bag and includes, a bowl of cereal which changes each day, a yogurt which doesn't come everyday, a bap which you can choose to have sausage, vegetarian sausage or bacon, a croissant with strawberry or apricot jam, a carton of milk, a carton of apple or orange juice and a bottle of water.
In the final video Emily reveals the lunch and dinner menu which you have to fill out everyday. Emily says, "You simply complete the form, put it back under the door and those will be your choices for the following day." You can also order from delivery companies like Deliveroo, JustEat and Uber Eats. Some people weren't impressed though. 'Good job I'm not travelling,' said one. 'I'd be staving for 10 days. That's a shocking choice.'
Only British or Irish Nationals are allowed to enter the country from a red list mark territory, but current regulations mean they have to pre-book and pay to stay in a government approved quarantine hotel for 10 days upon return.
Recent announcements now mean that anyone who is double vaccinated and arriving back from an amber list country does not have to self isolate when they arrive back in the UK.
