Burger King Is Bringing Out Fanta Lemon Flavoured Slushies

But there's a catch. There's always a catch.

As the entire country basks in the first couple of rays of sunshine of the year and we all frantically try to remember where we put our sunglasses, shorts, and shades, it's about time we all got stuck into a cold beverage.

If you're worried about the beer garden (it is only Wednesday, after all) then there are other options that might not be alcoholic, but damn do they look tasty.

Well, head on down to Burger King if you're too hot and fancy a nice refreshing drink - they've just released a frozen Fanta lemonade.

Yes, a frozen Fanta lemonade drink - similar to a slushy, but with added fizzy Fanta goodness.

Now, if you don't like Fanta Lemon there is something severely wrong with you. They could settle wars with the stuff. It's the most refreshing drink out there and the only thing that could make it better, you'd have to imagine, would be the addition of some ice.

But before you get too excited, there is some bad news (why is there always some bad news?).

You've guessed it - it isn't here in the UK yet. You can currently only get this frozen Fanta fiesta at Burger King restaurants in the USA, so you'll have to wait for another sunny day.

As unlikely as we are to get another sunny day any time soon, there is some hope on the horizon.

It looks like Coca Cola are dipping their toe in the icy cold waters of frozen drinks so you might be able to get your hands on them sooner than you think.

On 16 April Coke are launching the world's first Coke flavoured slushies in Japan. The first one - that will come in a handy portable pouch format - will be Coke Lemon.

Coca Cola

Ok, so Coke Lemon isn't everyone's cup of tea, in fact, after it was released in 2001 it was subsequently discontinued in a whole load of countries.

That said, there is something different about enjoying it in slushy form that might even bring around some of the doubters.

Most of us have had and enjoyed a cola flavoured ice lolly before now and enjoyed it, so now imagine the real thing.

Either way, it has to be better than a couple of rapidly melting ice cubes just watering up your drink.

The Fanta ones won't just be coming in lemon flavour either - there will be a whole range of flavours such as orange (naturally) and grape (weird).

Hopefully enough people in the US and Japan will get behind them and we'll get them over here at some point.

Knowing our luck, just in time for Christmas.
