Subway Unveils Huge Six-Foot Pig In A Blanket

Subway has today unveiled a 6ft version of its new Pig In Blanket sub - the largest festive sandwich on the high street.

The XL Sub is estimated to be capable of feeding up to three households who, under new guidelines, will be now able to meet up during the five-day festive period as long as they remain in their 'Christmas bubble'. It's also perfectly sized for an office Christmas lunch.

Dubbed a savoury festive treat like no other, the 6ft Pig In Blanket sub - aka the 'Tiger Pig' - includes 36 delicious pigs in blankets, 64 slices of American cheese, 24 slices of tangy red onion, 96 slices of juicy tomato and 96 slices of mixed peppers.

All this will be laid on a bed of spinach, on a plaited roll of Subway's brand-new crusty tiger bread and drizzled with the sandwich brand's famous Southwest sauce.

For a sweet treat, the Christmas Chocolate Orange Cookie and Mince Pie Cookie are now available individually or as a new 12-cookie family selection box.

The 'Tiger Pig' sub is already available in 6-inch and Footlong and is set to earn its stripes as the sandwich franchise's best-selling festive sub.

Subway's new Tiger Pig sub launched in stores nationwide last month as part of a new festive menu, alongside Pigs In Blankets Pots, the Turkey Breast SubStack - with added crispy hash browns, the Turkey Breast Toasted Bite, limited-edition Mince Pie and Chocolate Orange cookies, and Honeycomb Coffee and Hot Chocolate.

The 6ft Tiger Pig sub is being trialled from Wednesday 9 December, and will be available for pre-order collection from select stores in Manchester, London and Northern Ireland, while stocks last.

If a sub isn't your thing, what about a pizza topped with pigs in blankets? Morrisons and Lidl are releasing them with the delicious sausages wrapped in bacon on top.

The two supermarkets are releasing their own separate versions of this twist on two classics in time for the festive season.

If you opt for the Lidl offering, you'll pay £3.29 for a stone-baked sourdough pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, red onions, pigs in blankets - obviously - and cranberry sauce.

Over at Morrisons you'll be able to pick up a full Christmas dinner pizza for £2.89. It will feature the classic tomato and mozzarella combo, but also sage and onion turkey, pigs in blankets - again, obviously - and yet more cranberry sauce.
