£40 Teeth Veneers Make Woman Look Like 'Mr Potato Head'

£40 Teeth Veneers Make Woman Look Like 'Mr Potato Head'

Surprise, surprise - they weren't quite as advertised...

A teenager claims that she was left looking like beloved children's toy 'Mr Potato Head' after purchasing some £40 teeth veneers online. Yep, that's right - as made famous by the popular Toy Story character.

Eighteen-year-old Ferne Rawson said that she picked up the veneers online at thebrightsmiles.com but, once they actually arrived, they were significantly different to what she'd expected.

She thought she was spending the money on a lovely set of pearly white teeth. In actual fact, she ended up looking like - she thinks - a plastic potato.

Not exactly the look that anyone is going for.

Yep, that's a bit unnerving.

Ferne, from Auchinleck in Scotland, shared her strange experience on Twitter and even offered up some pictures to show the full extent.

She wrote: "Ferne strikes again.

"Ordered clip-in veneers because all the pics looked good and I got all excited.

"They just arrived and I look like Mr Potato Head, cannot breathe, actual best 40 quid I've ever spent."

She also shared some pictures of what the veneers were supposed to look like from the website she'd bought them from.

The official website had some other, more positive reviews.

It's fair to say that the effect is not the same.

On the website, a woman's teeth start off looking like - well - a normal, if slightly uneven, set of teeth. The next picture shows them looking visibly straighter and more white, presumably because she's just forked over £40 for a set of veneers.

Clever marketing from thebrightsmiles.com.

There's also a review from one customer that reads: "I could not thank you enough.

"The whole process was easy and straightforward. Communication with the team via email was fast and all questions were answered."

Definitely worth every penny.

That person gave the website five stars. Ferne did not.

Despite the fact that she seems to be having a decent laugh about the whole incident, she did actually leave a complaint about her overall experience.

She said: "Are you having a laugh or what, I look like Mr Potato Head. I'm phoning the polis."

Is this the look she was going for?

Since it was originally shared, Ferne's tweet has been liked more than 2,000 times and a load of folks have been joining in with the fun.

One user, who is obviously keen, said: "Oh wow that's hot."

Another shared a photograph of Jim Carrey's famous character from the film The Mask, adding: "Paint your face green and you have a perfect Mask cosplay."

There are a few lessons that can be taken from all of this. Firstly, if you buy something online and it's rubbish, you can complain about it, but you have to laugh.

Secondly, maybe don't buy things online that claim to sort out stuff that people pay hundreds to get sorted by - you know - actual professionals.

Thirdly, for the most part, your teeth are fine.

The snap-on veneers that Ferne bought are no longer listed for sale on the website. LADbible has reached out to thebrightsmiles.com for comment.
