A mortified mum claims her hubby has 'crossed the line' in their 24-year prank battle - by tattooing a 'horrific' photo of her snoring with her mouth open on his thigh.

Kelly and James were returning from a holiday when he took the picture which is now tattooed on his leg.

Dad-of-five James McGraw plotted the ultimate revenge prank after his wife Kelly left him with a dodgy haircut ahead of his holiday with pals as a joke.

So the 40-year-old window cleaner decided to get his wife a Christmas present to remember by getting her face tattooed on his bum cheek.

However cheeky James went one step further and used a photo he'd taken of Kelly snoring on a flight years earlier - complete with her mouth hanging wide open.

Kelly and James have been in a 24-year prank battle.

James bared his bum last Friday as tattooist friend Gary Stephens branded him with the portrait for an eye-watering eight hours, even naughtily 'adding more chins' to Kelly's snoring face.

To make the most of the big reveal, James pretended he had left his wallet at home and asked Kelly to bring £300 ($390) to the tattoo shop for his new inking.

But once she arrived there, the 37-year-old was 'gobsmacked' to see her own face branded on his bottom and that she had become the 'butt' of the joke.

Now the couple's five children are waiting on tenterhooks for their mum's reprisal - while James admits he's 'scared' of what she might think up.

James, from Portsmouth, Hampshire, said: "Every time I look at my wife now I just laugh. We've been playing pranks on each other for 24 years. This time, I pulled out all the stops - there's no beating this.

"[The tattoo is] a lovely tribute to my wife - she'll always remember it. It took eight hours of pain. I was in her bad books for a little bit but she knows it was a joke. The fact I can't stop laughing whenever I see her is making it worse.

"She still can't believe I had it done. I'm one-up at the moment. I'm winning, but I'm quite scared to be fair. I don't know what she's planning next."

James is now worried for what his wife might do in response.

James had taken the sly snap as the family returned from a holiday years earlier but Kelly had mistakenly thought it had since been forgotten about.

After he was mocked for his dodgy hairdo while on a charity walk, James set about thinking up a way to get his revenge.

James said: "I was doing a charity walk in Morocco walking the Sahara desert and I got her to cut my hair. On the back she'd messed it up completely. I knew I had to get her back.

"When I came back from this trip, I was getting a tattoo done and I knew I had to get that picture of her to pay her back. When I went to the tattooist with the idea he laughed.

"I called her and said 'Kel, I've left my bankcard at home. Can you bring it to the tattoo shop?' As she walked in with the kids she was gobsmacked. She didn't know what to do with her face."

The husband and wife have now passed on their joking ways to their kids - with the family-of-seven often 'tiptoeing' around the house in anticipation of a prank.

But James is set to go down in McGraw family history after his latest stunt - with his eight-year-old son Jayden even giving him a high-five when he saw the tattoo.

The tattoo set James back £300.

James said: "We have five kids and we're joking with them all the time too. When my little boy saw the tattoo he high-fived me. We're all jokers in the house. The kids were just laughing.

"We're always tiptoeing around the house expecting each other to jump out. My friends call it the McGraw Madhouse."

Although, after more than two decades, Kelly is used to her jokester husband, she has now claimed he's 'crossed the line' and warned he should 'watch his back' as she cooks up a plan.

Kelly said: "There's a line and he's crossed it big time. We're just a normal family but our banter's got out of hand. It's still really raw. We do mess about anyway but this is on another level.

"I was horrified. I couldn't believe it. I hated the photo so much. I just can't look at it properly without laughing. It's horrific and he's added more chins.

"He needs to watch his back because karma's a b***h. I'll think of something to get him back, but it's going to have to be really, really bad to top that."

We can't wait to know what Kelly's got up her sleeve.
