Friends star Matthew Perry died on Saturday 28 October

Last weekend (28 October) the world lost the brilliant Matthew Perry.

The actor was reportedly found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence.

Best known for playing Chandler Bing on sitcom Friends, Perry died at the age of 54.

On Friday (3 November), his co-stars gathered among other friends and family for his funeral at the Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.

His five fellow Friends lead actors all attended: Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow.

They also shared a heartbreaking tribute to Perry earlier in the week, writing: “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew.

"We were more than just cast mates.

“We are a family.

"There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

"In time we will say more, as and when we are able.

"For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

Perry’s resting place, Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery is opposite Warner Bros Studios – the very place where Friends was filmed for its 10 seasons.

A whole host of Hollywood stars are buried here, including Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher and Fast & Furious’ Paul Walker.

Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds is also buried with her, and the once highest-paid woman in the US, Bette Davis is also at the cemetery.

Walt Disney is also laid to rest at Perry’s final resting place as well as Stan Laurel of Laurel & Hardy.

Also buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park is Sex And The City’s Willie Garson, Western star Lee Van Cleef and Psycho’s Anne Heche.

While you don’t have to be famous to be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, it is a particularly pricey resting place that just happens to be populated by actors, musicians and other notable names.

In 2019, Fox reported that a plot in Forest Lawn's Hollywood Hills cemetery would set you back around £5,500 ($6,800).

NBS – the network which aired Friends – confirmed Perry’s death last weekend in a statement.

"We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry," it read.

"He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit.

"His legacy will live on through countless generations."

An investigation into Perry's death is ongoing and there is currently no cause of death.

There was no apparent foul play.
