It's a good day for fans of Power, as it's been commissioned for a sixth season - and US entertainment network Starz has also announced the launch date for season five.

The US crime drama hit Netflix in the UK just last year, but has managed to get itself an impressive fanbase already.

Following the end of season four, fans are not so patiently waiting for the fifth, and now Starz has announced it will premiere on Sunday 1 July.

Filming began back in September last year, and after the rollercoaster that was season four, fans can't wait to find out what's next.

So, understandably many were very happy to learn the news:

Speaking just before the season four finale was broadcast, creator Courtney A Kemp teased: "Look, no-one's been safe on our show for quite some time, but obviously, the main characters have had longer lives.

"We are reaching the end of this journey, so the main characters are less safe than they have ever been before."

Power's stars - Omari Hardwick, Joseph Sikora, Rotimi Akinosho, Lela Loren and, of course, 50 Cent are all expected to return for the fifth season, with Fiddy - real name Curtis James Jackson III - sharing a behind-the-scenes snap to his Instagram account.

Meanwhile, Naturi Naughton has told fans to "expect a lot of drama, a lot of pain - my daughter's dead! - a lot of fighting between Tasha and Ghost... It's about to be, like, next-level drama and I think this season is our best season yet."
